Let's make a versatile spicy jam with only 5 simple ingredients in 5 minutes.
It's a sweet and relatively spicy delicious jam that pairs lovely with cheese as an appetizer, as a small plate on an Italian grazing board, as a glaze, spread, or topping, and so much more.
You don't always have to make your own homemade jams to serve a delicious spiced apricot jam or spread.
This recipe turns a quality store-bought apricot spread into a delightful blend of sweet and spicy apricot mixture with a zesty kick in minutes.
And as much as I love homemade preserves or condiments like my Instant Pot Apple Butter or Rhubarb Compote, I love this little "cheating" recipe.
It comes in handy when you want to focus on other things in the kitchen, have a quick spread on the table to pair with brie, or crave an adult PB&J. You get my drift.
Let's make it. It's ridiculously easy yet so good!

Ingredients & Notes
See the recipe card for full information on ingredients and quantities.
- Apricot spread (store-bought or homemade): Use a quality unsweetened apricot spread. It has enough sweetness, but you get to control the flavors and the amount of sugar you add. Also, apricots make a delicious fruit spread to pair with spicy flavors and are my favorite choice here.
- Crushed chili peppers: One teaspoon is enough to make it deliciously spicy, but feel free to use a tad more if preferred and adjust according to your taste buds.
- Lemon juice: Use fresh lemon juice to add that wonderful zesty kick to this spiced apricot jam.
- Chopped fresh rosemary: It brightens up the flavor without overpowering the rest.
- Coconut sugar: You don't need much sugar, just a tad to balance out the spicy flavors. Brown sugar or Monk fruit sweetener are great alternatives.
