    Why You'll Love This Recipe

    • Creamy Texture: The combination of avocado and nut milk creates an irresistibly creamy avocado smoothie that’s smooth and satisfying.
    • Healthy Fats and Fiber: Avocados are packed with healthy fats and dietary fiber, making this a nutritious drink that will keep you full and energized.
    • Immune Boosting: The lemon juice and green apple bring a punch of vitamin C, perfect for supporting your immune system.
    • Simple Ingredients: Made with easy-to-find, wholesome ingredients, this apple avocado smoothie is quick to prepare, perfect for busy mornings.

    Ingredients & Notes

See the recipe card for full information on ingredients and quantities.

    Here's what you'll need:

Ingredients to make a green apple avocado smoothie.
    • Green Apple: I love using Granny Smith apples for their tartness, which balances the creamy texture of the avocado. Green apples are also rich in dietary fiber and vitamin C, contributing to the smoothie’s health benefits.
    • Ripe Avocado: Avocado is the star of this smoothie, providing healthy fats and a creamy texture. The healthy fats in avocado help absorb fat-soluble vitamins and keep you feeling full. Buy an extra one to make my Pineapple Avocado Nice Cream.
    • Lemon Juice: Fresh lemon juice adds brightness and a dose of vitamin C, making this smoothie taste light and refreshing.
    • Freshly Grated Ginger: Ginger adds a subtle zing and aids digestion, making this smoothie not only tasty but also a great way to support gut health. Use extras to make my Carrot Orange Ginger Juice or Melon And Ginger Smoothie.
    • Raw Honey: Adds natural sweetness without refined sugar, making it a healthier choice for sweetening your smoothie.
    • Nut Milk: Unsweetened almond milk or hazelnut milk works great here to create a smooth, creamy texture while keeping it dairy-free.

    Top Tips

    • Add Ice Cubes: If you prefer a colder smoothie, add a few ice cubes to the blender for a frosty finish.
    • Extra Protein: To boost the protein content, add a tablespoon of almond butter or a scoop of your favorite protein powder.
    • Chia or Hemp Seeds: Sprinkle some chia or hemp seeds on top for added omega-3 fatty acids and fiber.
    • Cacao Nibs: Garnish with cacao nibs or shaved dark chocolate for a subtle, sweet touch—my favorite.

    Variations & Substitutions

    • Coconut Water: Substitute nut milk with coconut water for a lighter, hydrating version of this smoothie.
    • Frozen Banana: Add half a frozen banana for extra creaminess and natural sweetness if you prefer a sweeter smoothie.
    • Pink Lady Apple: Swap out the green apple for a Pink Lady if you prefer a slightly sweeter apple flavor.

    Storage

This smoothie is best enjoyed fresh, but you can store it in an airtight container or mason jar in the fridge for up to 24 hours. Give it a good shake before drinking.

    Recipe FAQs

Can I use a different type of milk?

Absolutely! Feel free to use unsweetened soy, coconut, or oat milk to suit your preference.

Can I make this smoothie ahead of time?

Although best enjoyed when fresh, you can make it up to 24 hours in advance. Store it in the fridge in a sealed container, but keep in mind it may separate slightly—just shake or stir it before enjoying.
