At the beginning I actually don't know how to use it and screwed up my steaming cakes many times. But now i found the secrets which lead my way to very successful and tasty steam cake for my little toddler.First of all, after the water was added into the egg replacer, don't let it sit for over a minute. Move quickly and mix the paste with flour. Make sure they are completely mixed up.Second, the batter needs to be thick. Initially I added too much water and make it like the regular batter with real egg. Actually it just needs a little bit water and should be like peanut butter or even more thicker. With these two principles, my steaming cakes are always as perfect as the ones with real eggs. Finally I can make all kinds of vegan cakes for my kid, seaweed cake, dates cake, carrot cake etc. Thanks Bobs Red Mill, you saved my life!
Thank you, Bob! I made a vegan birthday cake with this product and oh my goodness, everyone raves at the moistness and taste!
This product has directions for substituting a whole egg as well as the white only. For instance I made a white cake mix which calls for separating out the yolk and not using it…….
Since you get substitution for about 32 eggs, this is a really handy, economical product to keep on your baking shelf.
We were trying to make egg less cakes and was using different methods but the cake was not soft. Then bought this and easier than any other methods and the cake texture is also great.
I've had Bob's Red Hill egg replacer before and it was tasteless. This one has a slight pea taste which I could taste in the apple cake I made. It works well, but not fond of the taste being apparent.
After going plant based i was concerned about missing out on baked goods because of eggs and milk. This alternative gives you the desired results and won't leave muffins dry and dense like some vegan recipes tend to do. Be sure to manage the moisture of your batters and try plant based fats such as coconut yogurt or avocado butter to get you closer to the original results of baked goods.
So more recently ive been unable to consume any daily products...eggs are my absolute nemesis and the pain is unreal if I eat them. Wanting to bake and cook again I decided tentatively to try this and I cannot believe how great it is! This will be a staple in my cupboard from now on so I can enjoy my baked goods. Worked amazingly in banana bread and cannot wait to use it in more stuff!
